Delete your account

This page explains how to request deletion of your The Skin Lovers account and the personal data associated with it. It applies both to the website at theskinlovers.com and to The Skin Lovers app for Android, published by The Skin Lovers.

Delete your account yourself, immediately

If you can sign in, you do not need to wait for anyone. Go to My Account and use Close my account at the bottom of the page. You will be asked for your password to confirm, and the deletion happens straight away — there is no waiting period and no request to process.

Orders still in progress block closure, because we need your name and address to deliver them. Wait until the order is delivered, or use the email route below and we will sort it out with you.

Or request deletion by email

Email hello@theskinlovers.com from the email address registered to your account, with the subject “Account deletion request”.

1. Send the email from your registered address, so we can verify the request is genuinely yours.
2. Include your full name as it appears on your account.
3. State whether you want your entire account deleted, or only specific personal data removed.
4. We acknowledge every request within 5 working days and complete it within 30 days.

If you can no longer access your registered email address, contact us from any address and we will verify your identity another way before acting on the request.

What is deleted

When your deletion request is completed, we permanently remove:

• Your name, email address and phone number
• Your saved delivery and billing addresses
• Your account login credentials, including any linked Google sign-in
• Your unredeemed Glow Points balance and check-in streak
• Your saved bag and any marketing preferences

What is kept, and for how long

Some records cannot be deleted on request, because Malaysian law requires us to keep them:

• Order and payment records — retained for 7 years to meet tax, accounting and audit obligations under Malaysian law. These are anonymised: the order remains for accounting purposes, but is unlinked from you and stripped of your contact details.
• Payment records held by our payment providers — Stripe and ToyyibPay keep their own transaction records under their own policies and retention periods. We never hold your card details, so there is nothing for us to delete. Contact those providers directly regarding data they hold.
• Records needed for a live dispute or legal claim — retained until the matter is resolved.

Once deleted, your account cannot be recovered, and any unredeemed Glow Points are forfeited. You are welcome to create a new account at any time, but it will start fresh.

Deleting only some of your data

You do not have to delete your whole account. You can ask us to remove specific items — a saved address, your phone number, or your marketing preferences — while keeping the account itself. Say so in your email and we will action it the same way.
